China News Service, Beijing, August 11 (Cha Zhiyuan) - Data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on August 11 shows that in July, China's automobile production and sales completed 2.591 million and 2.593 million units respectively, with month-on-month decreases of 7.3% and 10.7% respectively, and year-on-year increases of 13.3% and 14.7% respectively.

In terms of exports, in July, traditional fuel vehicle exports were 350,000 units, a month-on-month decrease of 9.6% and a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%; new energy vehicle exports were 225,000 units, a month-on-month increase of 10% and a year-on-year increase of 120%. From January to July, traditional fuel vehicle exports were 2.373 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 7%; new energy vehicle exports were 1.308 million units, a year-on-year increase of 84.6%.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers analyzed that in July, the automobile market entered the traditional off-season, some manufacturers arranged annual equipment maintenance, the production and sales rhythm slowed down, and there was a seasonal month-on-month decline. From the perspective of the industry's market environment, the effect of the old-for-new policy continued to show, positive progress was made in the industry's comprehensive rectification of "involution", and enterprises continued to launch new models, helping the automobile market operate steadily and achieve year-on-year growth. Among them, new energy vehicles continued their rapid growth trend, and automobile exports remained stable.
Since this year, both enterprises and the industry have been increasing efforts to combat involution.
On May 31, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers issued the "Initiative on Maintaining Fair Competition Order and Promoting Healthy Industry Development". Subsequently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that it agreed with and supported the initiative put forward by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and would step up efforts to rectify "involutionary" competition in the automobile industry. In June, 17 key automobile enterprises including FAW, Dongfeng, GAC, and Seres issued a statement, promising that the payment period to suppliers would not exceed 60 days.
Breaking down the persistent ills of the industry, against the backdrop of promoting consumption, China's automobile industry is further building advantages in the new energy vehicle track.
